Production trend and Stock position:
- According to Ministry of Agriculture, the sowing acreage of overall Pulses as on December 13, 2019 was 80.63 lakh hectares (lh) up by 0.16 percent compared to 80.50 lh during the corresponding period.
- According to agriwatch website Central government has allowed procurement agencies to procure 11.20 lakh MT Pulses from Oct to Sep (2019-20) and two agencies NAFED and FCI have been authorized to take on procurement.
- Stock positions of Bengal Gram were down by 33.28 percent held at National Commodity Clearing Limited (NCCL) approved warehouses at Bikaner, Indore and Jaipur locations. The stocks held as on December 18, 2019 was 4,795 MT compared to 7,187 MT as on November 14, 2019.
