Current Market Developments

• Currently, a steady trend in prices is witnessed for Guar seed in domestic markets of Rajasthan where prices are quoted between Rs 5100-5300 per quintal and Rs 4900-5200 per quintal in Gujarat.

• The daily arrivals of Guar seed in domestic markets are around 45-60 thousand bags which is considered on higher side.
• As per trade sources, this year the crop size is estimated around 60-65 lakh bags and at the end of December around 70-75 percent of crop is expected to be arrived in markets. Only around 30-35 percent of crop would remain for 9 months. So far around 40-42 lakh bags of crop have arrived in markets out of which around 32 lakh bags have arrived in markets and around 10 lakh bags in plants directly.
• In Gujarat trade sources are estimating crop of around 2.5 lakh bags which is less than last year’s 3 lakh bags. Daily around 7-8 thousand bags are arriving in markets and are likely to decline further in coming days. Already the daily arrivals have started declining in markets of Bhuj, Bhachau, Visnagar, and Sidhpur to around 100-200 bags.
• At the export front, Guar meal exports have increased significantly by 43 percent as per the Ministry of Commerce data. Guar meal exports during April-October 2023 period increased to 147539.98 tonnes as compared to 103425.85 tonnes in April-October 2022. In the month of October 2023, around 16,869.59 tonnes of Guar meal were exported as compared to 8,971.94 tonnes in October 2022.
• As per trade sources, Guar gum availability is likely to get tighter in coming days. Guar gum exports in the month of October stood around 28-29 thousand tonnes, in November month 27 thousand tonnes and in December exports of around 28-30 thousand tonnes are expected.
